I'm writing this about a week into the program, and so far, it's been real interesting. Orientation was fun. When I sat down, I didn't know anyone aside from my friend Jim, but it was surprisingly easy to talk to all the other students in the room almost immediatley. What I liked best about orientation was the fire saftery talk. I can't quite remember his name, but the person who gave the talk was really funny and that's always good. As far as the lab goes, we've been waiting for supplies and the researcher I'm working with has been pretty busy, so I haven't done much aside from reading up on what the department (radiation medicine) has been up to. Next week I should start doing a lot of expiraments though. Me and my partner are going to be using hyrdolisis to break down these synthetic carriers so the department has an idea of how they'll behave in the body. So aside from all the reading, I haven't been busy at all just yet, but again, the program will get more fun as it goes. And hanging out with all my new friends during lunch and at the events has been really great.
