Nichols School Students Go Bald For Bucks

Nichols School Continues Bald for Bucks Tradition With Best Year Yet!

Friday, December 19, 2014

Students and faculty at Nichols School returned to the buzzers for the sixth year in March 2014, continuing what has become a school-wide tradition to raise money for Roswell Park Cancer Institute through the Goin’ Bald for Bucks program.

“This year's Goin' Bald for Bucks event was a very positive, yet emotional event,” said Lisa Sauer, AP Biology Teacher at Nichols School. “Cancer has affected members of our school community, as well as friends and families of those in our community. We're fortunate to have Roswell Park in Buffalo and hope our school's contribution will have a positive impact on research and treatment in the near future.”

Bald for Bucks has become a highly anticipated, yearly act of kindness at Nichols. And it shows. Funds raised by the school jumped from $7,402 in 2013 to $14,925 in 2014. Goin’ Bald for Bucks recognized Nichols as the “Most Improved School” out of the 55 participating schools in the Buffalo area and awarded each participant with tickets to Darien Lake.

Nichols School is a shining example of how making Bald for Bucks a tradition at your school helps build momentum to support the 31,000 patients who benefit from cutting-edge research and patient-care programs at Roswell Park each year. Grab a friend, a team and your school and go Bald for Bucks this year to help support the fight for a world without cancer. Visit BaldForBucks.org.
