Take Time to Speak With the Cancer Survivor in Your Life

High school students – we have an exciting opportunity for you! Do you have a cancer survivor in your life? Wouldn’t it be great to sit down and learn more about their life experiences, lessons, advice and more?

Life Recorded at Roswell Park is offering a listening and recording project to high school students in Western New York aimed at bridging generations within families and communities. We’re looking for students who are willing to interview family members and close friends who have lived with cancer. The stories include not only the storyteller’s history but also a message of hope and thanks that can be shared with generations to come. All participants receive a CD or DVD of the interview. Students can even download the StoryCorps app on their smartphones and upload their interview to the archive at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

Teachers, please consider this project by allowing Life Recorded representatives to speak to students at your school. Recordings will take place at a date and time to be determined by the school and the Life Recorded staff at Roswell Park.
