Lake Shore Students Visit the Kiss 98.5 Studio

Lake Shore Goes Bald for the 16th Year!

Thursday, March 23, 2017

The Lake Shore community has done it again! More than 75 people came together to support Bald For Bucks and raise money for Roswell Park for the 16th year in a row. Their event took place on Friday, March 10 and they raised a total of $25,500! Lake Shore was the founding school of Bald for Bucks and they began the event in 2002. The founder, Tony George, started Bald for Bucks to support his sister, Kathy, who was battling cancer. Mr. George and four of the students who went Bald this March visited Kiss 98.5 on Wednesday, March 22, to hang out with DJ Anthony and tour the studio. Several of the students went Bald to support people in their lives and some went Bald just to support the cause.

One student, Elizabeth, originally decided to go Bald in support of her uncle and grandpa who had both faced a cancer diagnosis but after she signed up and had started fundraising, her mom was also diagnosed with cancer. Elizabeth decided to go all out and totally shave her head and even dye a cheetah pattern in her hair after it was shaved! Elizabeth was joined in the studio by her very proud mother!
