Lake Shore Central Does It Again!

Thursday, March 22, 2018

Students from Lake Shore Central School and their teacher, Tony George, came to the Entercom Studio this week to visit DJ Anthony and record some radio lines about their Bald for Bucks event that recently took place. Lake Shore is the founding school of Bald for Bucks and they have been goin' bald since 2002 after Mr. George chose to shave his head to support his sister, Cathy, who was battling cancer. The students did an amazing job raising funds for cancer research and compassionate patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The top fundriaser, Kaitlyn, raised over $3,600 and still had plenty of donations rolling in! The school's total so far is over $27,000. The entire school district and the community all came together to pull off an amazing event with food, basket raffles and a bounce house. Many members of the community have been affected by cancer so it was a very special event. The students are still accepting donations! If you'd like to donate to a Lake Shore student, visit their page here.
